The Palliation workgroup has:

• Worked with the New Hampshire Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHHPCO) and the Foundation for Healthy Communities to conduct a statewide survey of hospital-based palliative-care services.
• Coordinated statewide presentations on end-of-life care.
• Worked with NHHPCO to implement courses that will recertify licensed nursing assistants and registered nurses in hospice care.
• Identified advocates to promote access to high-quality pain management for cancer survivors.
• Developed and distributed the brochure Freedom from Pain, which recommends approaches for patients as they advocate for better pain management.
• Partnered with the NHHPCO task force and NH Pain Initiative to work on mutual goals.
• Conducted a survey of hospitals, cancer centers and long term care facilities to establish a baseline of how cancer survivors access information about palliative care in NH. Click HERE to access the final report of the survey findings.
