New Hampshire Comprehensive Cancer Plan Fund

In July, 2007 the New Hampshire (NH) Cancer Plan Fund was established by the legislature under RSA 126-A:64 in the office of the state treasurer , to be administered by the Department of Health and Human Services. The Fund is non-lapsing and continually appropriated to the Department and shall be used to implement the provisions of the NH Cancer Plan, entitled Cancer in NH-A Call to Action 2010 as developed by the NH Comprehensive Cancer Collaboration. RSA 126-A:64 designates specific categories for how the fund shall be expended annually.

New Hampshire Comprehensive Cancer Plan Fund Oversight Board

In July, 2007 the NH legislature established a comprehensive Cancer Plan Oversight Board to oversee the Department of Health and Human Services’ allocation of moneys from the Cancer Fund. RSA 126-A:65 designates who the core members of this Board should be and includes representatives of::

  • American Cancer Society
  • Cancer Survivors in NH
  • Dartmouth-Hitchcock Healthcare System
  • NH Department of Health and Human Services
  • NH Hospital Association
  • NH House of Representatives
  • NH Senate

Other interested persons or agencies can join this Board upon approval of the Board. The Board reports annually to the legislature regarding the use of the funds and the progress toward meeting the goals of the NH Cancer Plan.
