The New Hampshire Comprehensive Cancer Collaboration (NH CCC) is part of a national effort to systematically and comprehensively address cancer control in each state through prevention, early detection, treatment, rehabilitation and palliation. New Hampshire is fortunate to have a group of national, state and local health organizations, community service organizations, cancer survivors, and individuals dedicated to implementing the NH Cancer Plan entitled "Cancer in NH: A Call to Action 2010." NH CCC members include a broad spectrum of individuals working with, or affected by cancer such as: physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, advocates, policy makers, representatives of the NH Division of Public Health Services and health insurance plans, survivors, and family members. Five workgroups are responsible for implementing the sixteen priority objectives of the Cancer Plan. Workgroups include: Primary Prevention, Prevention and Early Detection, Treatment and Survivorship, Palliation and Emerging Issues. The NH CCC encourages partners to work together to maximize the use of limited resources and avoid duplication of efforts. The vision of the New Hampshire Comprehensive Cancer Collaboration is for cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality to be significantly reduced or eliminated and for the people of New Hampshire to enjoy a healthy quality of life. The mission of the Comprehensive Cancer Collaboration is to reduce significantly the incidence of, suffering from, and mortality due to cancer for people in New Hampshire through prevention, early detection, treatment and survivorship, and palliation. We will accomplish this goal by means of an integrated and coordinated alliance of stakeholders that will utilize available epidemiological data and evidence-based research to set priorities for action. |
